What are Messaging Patterns in WCF?
Messaging patterns basically describe how programs exchange messages.There are 3basic messaging patterns that programs can use to exchange messages:
- Simplex: A one-way communication from Program X to Program Y. No response is generated by Program Y, thus causing the one-way communication.In this scenario, the client initiates communication and sends a message to the service. The service consumes the message and performs some action or behavior but does not communicate back to the client.
- Duplex: This pattern allows for both programs to communicate openly and allows information exchanges in both directionsneither the sending program nor the receiving program waits for a response from the other program.
